Press Release: 2001: A Space Odyssey

Film critic Roger Ebert has announced a special screening of 2001: A Space Odyssey and the USA premiere of Stanley Kubrick: A Life in Pictures at the third annual "Roger Ebert's Overlooked Film Festival," to be held April 25-29, 2001. The guests attending the festival and the free academic panel discussions to be held at the University of Illinois in conjunction with the festival are also announced.

A newly minted 70 mm print of Stanley Kubrick's classic 2001: A Space Odyssey will be screened Wednesday, April 25 at 7:30 p.m. at the Virginia Theatre in Champaign, Illinois. Star Keir Dullea will be present on stage to discuss the film with Roger Ebert. And author Arthur C. Clarke will do a live telephone conversation with Ebert, Dullea and the film's audience. The festival will also show the USA premiere of Stanley Kubrick - A Life in Pictures, produced and directed by Jan Harlan, Kubrick's brother-in-law and longtime associate. Following this documentary, Ebert will host a discussion of Kubrick and his work with Keir Dullea, Jan Harlan, and Frederick Ordway, special effects coordinator on 2001
